Health and Safety

It is our fundamental policy to conduct our business responsibly and in a manner designed to protect our employees, adjacent communities and the natural environment.

In conducting our operations, we assess the potential safety, health and environmental effects and integrate these considerations into our planning, operational decisions and processes. We are looking to build safety into the way we work.

Our Approach
We established during 2000 a new Adelaide Brighton Safety and Health Management System which is being progressively implemented. The system has been developed to manage the interface between our people and the working environment and to ensure as a minimum, compliance with legislative requirements. It is also intended to deliver a consistent approach to safety, health and environmental management and the sharing of better practice between our various sites.

A critical part of the new Safety and Health system is the establishment of accountability for all employees, and especially managers, for their safety, health and environmental performance. Managers, in particular, have accountability for ensuring that a strategy for SH&E conformance is prepared and implemented.

To develop better practices, we provide training and resources to build competencies and conduct regular audits related to safety and health.

Our ultimate aim is to be among the best performers in the world in the areas of safety and health. The task is urgent and has the full commitment of our senior management team.
