Otago Bay House

Otago Bay House is an award winning architecturally designed home which sits in the beautiful natural landscape elevated above Otago Bay on the Derwent River.

This home features several design and engineering features include engineered suspended slabs with a decorative brick facade, curved walls which follow the contours of the site and a stunning curved roof which sweeps up to reveal priceless views of Mount Wellington.

This high-profile architectural project required a reliable, local supplier to bring the designers vision to life. Adbri supplied hard wearing masonry bricks which were produced in a custom colour to complement the aesthetics of the sites natural environment. To further elevate the aesthetic appeal of the project, the Adbri bricks were lightly textured with a shotblast face finish to expose the natural aggregates within, further tying back to the natural beautify of the site.

Narellan Baptist Care

To realise the maximum potential of a new land development opportunity in south west Sydney’s growth corridor, Lendlease’s Narellan Baptist Care project required high quality engineered retaining walls which were supplied and installed by Adbri.

This project required a series of high-performance retaining walls to be constructed on the site to develop and sub-divide the land for further building activity. Through the supply and install arm of Adbri’s Concrete Products business, over 2,000m of heavy-duty concrete sleepers and over 1,500m2 of Besser Block retaining walls were constructed.

Adbri was successful in being awarded this project after its Contracting Services Division presented a turnkey solution which included the manufacture and supply of concrete sleepers and Besser blocks, installation of the products and ongoing project management of the retaining wall construction.

This project called on the experience of Adbri’s  civil engineers who provided ongoing design and project support throughout the 12-month supply period. Adbri’s ability to provide ongoing technical support, product testing via an in-house NATA accredited testing laboratory and a single point accountability for the works led to a positive outcome for the clients and owners.
