EvoCem™ Field Trial with Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland

Recently we conducted a field trial with our innovative EvoCem™ Type GL cement with the Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland (TMR). These trials were conducted to test the placeability, finishability, and hardened concrete properties of concrete to TMR Specifications made with EvoCem™ in comparison to Type GP cement.

These important field trials, pave the way for the potential use of EvoCem™ in future projects, meeting a need for lower carbon alternatives to Build a Better Australia.

We’re proud to collaborate with TMR in leading the way toward a more sustainable future.

Putting Safety First: How AI Technology is Helping Our Drivers Stay Safer on the Road

At Adbri, we’re proud to be leading the way in road safety through the rollout of our new intelligent video telematics camera system – a cutting-edge AI-driven platform that enhances driver training and coaching, as well as predicting and preventing driver fatigue, distraction, and potential incidents in real time.

This journey began 18 months ago with a pilot program developed in collaboration with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) through the Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative. The trial involved 23 trucks operating nationwide across various truck applications, and delivered tangible improvements in safety outcomes.

What truly sets this initiative apart is our collaborative, driver-focused approach. From the outset, we engaged directly with our drivers – conducting face-to-face consultations prior to installation and providing ongoing support throughout the process. This open dialogue ensured strong driver engagement and widespread acceptance, creating a valuable feedback loop that continues to enhance performance and road safety.

Following the initial pilot’s success, we have now moved into an extended pilot phase. This includes deeper consultation with participating drivers, whose feedback – on factors such as camera placement, sensitivity settings, and the way we deliver performance insights – is being actively incorporated into the system design through our telematics provider Netcorp.

As we prepare for full implementation later this year, we are also working to finalise key elements such as our governance policy – which will outline how data is used, shared, and protected – and the development of regular feedback reports for drivers.

This initiative is about more than just advanced technology. It represents a broader cultural shift – placing safety, trust, and collaboration at the core of how we operate.

A huge thank you to our teams, drivers, and industry partners who are helping bring this initiative to life.

Adbri & Calix working together

As part of our commitment to a lower emissions future, Adbri is partnering with Australian company Calix to co-develop a Calix calciner for lime production with carbon capture technology. Feasibility work will commence soon on the project which represents a world-first development of a commercial-scale, zero-emissions lime production facility.

The story behind our brand

Our new brand embodies who we are and what we do, with the logo representing our three core operations of cement and lime; concrete and aggregates and concrete products. The circular symbol takes inspiration from our businesses; the circular quarry pits, cement mills and kilns, rotating agitators and mixers and the wheels on the trucks that deliver our product throughout Australia. The colours also reflect the historic Adelaide Brighton dark blue, complemented with a sky blue depicting our bright future, with the addition of a grey representing the earthly ingredients so important to Adbri.

Introducing our new look Adbri

Today Adbri is pleased to share with you our new look and feel.

Our change of name from Adelaide Brighton Limited to Adbri Limited recognises our strong national identity, while retaining a strong connection to our proud history as we grow into new markets.

With Adbri’s origins dating back to the opening of the Brighton Cement works in 1882, we have evolved from a South Australian cement manufacturer into a national vertically integrated construction materials and industrial minerals business that is helping build a better Australia.  Over our history we have overcome many challenges thanks to the dedication of our people and the support of our customers, suppliers and shareholders. Today we continue to demonstrate this strength and agility as we all work together to protect the health and wellbeing of all Australians during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Making a positive difference

This year Adbri launched its inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to help accelerate our journey to reconciliation. We believe the commitments we have made in our RAP will result in a positive difference to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the areas of employment, education, empowerment and economic development, while enhancing the cultural understanding of our non-Indigenous workforce.
